AmaPura: Discover Myanmar in style & comfort (retired)

Editor's Note: AmaWaterways has retired AmaPura from its fleet.

Snapshot

AmaPura, launched by AmaWaterways in late 2014, offers river cruise passengers the opportunity to explore Myanmar along the Irrawaddy River. Unlike an ocean cruise, a river cruise aboard AmaPura offers daily shore excursions and a more comfortable setting with fewer passengers. (AmaWaterways has not just released a photo of the ship, only digital renderings.)

Life aboard the AmaPura provides an intimate cruise experience, while still offering specialty cuisine and luxury onboard amenities. A journey onboard the stylish AmaPura is described as an "ultra-comfortable and serene home away from home." The 56-passenger AmaPura is a custom-designed, all-suite ship with a choice of staterooms measuring 285, 290 and 420 square feet. Every suite features a private French Balcony, a step-out Full Balcony or Twin Balconies.

Who will like sailing on AmaPura

Upscale cruise passengers of all ages.  If you desire an all-inclusive cruise experience that is destination-centric, then this is a great option.

Where AmaPura sails

Home port: Pyay, Myanmar

Destinations: The AmaPura is the latest river ship from Ama Cruises and sails in Myanmar from Pyay to Mandalay on the Irrawaddy (Ayeyarwady) River. Visit some of the 2,000 temples on the Bagan plains and the monastic center of Sagaing.

It's uncertain whether AmaPura will continue sailings in Myanmar after March 2017.
