How our Bliss Filters work
Windstar Cruises operates a fleet of small luxury boutique cruise ships known for an intimate, yacht style experience and voyages to the world’s best small ports and hidden harbors. Its recently refurbished power yachts and sailing yachts carry just 148 to 342 guests and cruise to 50 nations, calling at 150 ports throughout Europe, the South Pacific, the Caribbean and Central America. Three of the ships are outfitted with contemporary-looking computer-controlled sails.
Seattle-based Windstar, owned by Anchutz Corp. and its subsidiary Xanterra Parks and Resorts, has become a favorite of travelers who enjoy small-ship cruising without the big price tag of sailings on similarly sized luxury vessels.
In 2020-2021 Windstar spent $250 million for a major makeover of its power yachts,, transforming its three all-suite Star Plus Class ships — Star Breeze, Star Legend and Star Pride — by making them longer and roomier on board.
Windstar lures a slightly younger, hipper crowd — mostly North Americans — than most of the upscale lines. The fleet's style is a mix of casual and upscale, marked by unfussy bistro-style cuisine. Water sports enthusiasts will love Windstar’s complimentary waterskiing, windsurfing, sailing, ski-tubing and kayaking from each ship’s aft deck. Scuba diving is also available in certain ports for an additional charge. Passengers can expect luxurious amenities, gourmet cuisine and exceptional service while sailing to uncrowded ports of call.
Voyages are concentrated in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and South Pacific, and itineraries of six to ten days are typical, but you'll also find more wide-ranging destinations such as Southeast Asia, Arabia, Iceland and beyond, depending on health and safety conditions.
