Top 10 cruise destinations

TripAdvisor just came out with its Travelers' Choice list of Top 25 Destinations in the World. It's interesting to see how many of these you can get to by cruise ship!

Let's take a look through photos (above) and through our travel guides and port guides (below). Here's TripAdvisor's top 10, which I'm turning into a Wish List since I haven't visited all of these places yet:

  1. Marrakech, Morocco (we don't have a guide to Marrakech yet, it's a bit inland, but there's always Casablanca)
  2. Siem Reap, Cambodia, home to Angkor Wat, pictured above (and accessible by river cruise)
  3. Istanbul, Turkey, one of our favorites
  4. Hanoi, Vietnam (Hanoi sounds intriguing. We know of a number of ships — from Silversea, Azamara and others — that cruise to spectacular Ha Long Bay, pictured above, and Ho Chi Minh City, the former Saigon.)
  5. Prague, Czech Republic
  6. London
  7. Rome
  8. Buenos Aires, Argentina 
  9. Paris
  10.  Cape Town, South Africa

Eight out of 10, not bad! (And certainly, you can get to Marrakech and Hanoi as part of a cruise and vacation land tour).
