MSC Seascape
MSC Seascape: Caribbean sailings on a smartship
Snapshot
MSC Seascape launched in November 2022 as the latest in a line of mega-size smartships from MSC Cruises. The ship holds 4,560 passengers at double capacity and 5,179 people at maximum capacity during its 7- to 14-day Caribbean sailings from Miami.
MSC Seascape features 20 bars and lounges and 11 dining venues while entertainment includes outdoor performances, a theater, a water park and kids' clubs.
The ship offers some cutting-edge tech, such as the RFID wristband that can open cabin doors and pay for drinks and a Family and Friends Locator app that keeps track of fellow shipmates who wear smart wristbands. You'll also find interactive touch screens throughout the ship and a voice-enabled assistant in every cabin.
Seascape is the second ship in the Seaside-EVO Class following MSC Seashore (2021). The Seaside EVO class is somewhat more technologically advanced than the original Seaside class, which launched in 2017.
Who will like sailing on MSC Seascape
MSC Seascape will appeal to active cruise passengers looking for the latest and greatest in cruise technology. The ship has had an uneven rollout, given the number of customer complaints.
Where MSC Seascape sails
MSC Seascape sails mostly 7- and 14-night Caribbean sailings. Ports include Ocho Rios and Montego Bay, Jamaica; Nassau, Bahamas; Cozumel, Mexico; San Juan, Puerto Rico; George Town, Cayman Islands; and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
Dining
Here are the main complimentary dining venues on MSC Seascape:
Green Wave Restaurant, Cala Jondal Restaurant, Aegean Restaurant and Skyline Restaurant: The ship's main dining room is split into these four venues across three decks. The menu is a blend of freshly prepared Mediterranean cuisine and international specialties. The elegantly appointed surroundings provide a more intimate experience for diners than a large dining hall, though passengers are assigned a restaurant and seating time; guests are free to try a different restaurant as a walk-in. Skyline is exclusive to passengers staying in one of the Aurea category cabins.
Marketplace Buffet & Biscayne Bay Buffet: Two buffets with indoor and outdoor seating, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring items like pizza and grill options.
Specialty restaurants
Butcher’s Cut: A fine dining steakhouse, this specialty restaurant has an extensive menu and a la carte brunch on sea days.
Ocean Cay: This nautically themed eatery offers a prix fixe or a la carte menu with sea views.
Kaito Teppanaki: The second largest of the specialty restaurants, at Kaito you sit around an iron griddle table with fellow diners while the chef puts his knife entertainment skills. Look for dishes of sushi and sashimi, miso soup, salmon, prawns, sirloin and fried rice, plus spiced pineapple with matcha ice cream for dessert.
Kaito Sushi Bar: A more informal option, Kaito Sushi actually has a conveyor belt that rolls by with small plates of sushi and sashimi to choose from, color coded by prices in the $6 to $14 range.
Hola! Tacos & Cantina: With a menu inspired by Mexico City's street dining scene, Hola! is an authentic, accessible venue that will impress those in the mood for Mexican fare.
MSC Yacht Club Restaurant: Exclusive to MSC Yacht Club members, the venue offers daily menus with high-end cuts of meat and other premium options.
Venchi 1878 Chocolate Bar & Gelato & Creperie: Here's the place for sweet treats like gelato, coffee drinks and crepes in partnership with Italian chocolatier Venchi.
Family activities
MSC Seascape is built for family fun. Robotron, a state-of-the-art robotic arm, delivers a one-of-a-kind thrill ride nearly 175 feet above the sea. Take in 360-degree views as you soar over the deck, flip upside down and move in all directions.
From the ship's signature Infinity Pool in the aft to the main Marina Pool with a 360-degree water fountain island and in-pool loungers, six refreshing pools await when you’re ready to take a dip, as well as multiple whirlpools, including some with infinity views, for when it’s time to relax.
The whole family will get a kick out of Pirates Cove Aquapark, complete with virtual reality technology and interactive water features. An expansive futuristic-themed Kids Club, dedicated Teens Club, sports complex, and racecar and river-rafting simulators keep all ages entertained.
