Star Breeze: All-suite accommodations at sea
Since Windstar Cruises was established in 1984, the line has built a reputation for offering an intimate, boutique style of cruising. In 2014 and 2015 Windstar doubled its fleet from three to six ships — the three identical 106-suite power yachts, acquired from Seabourn, were added to the company’s existing three masted sailing yachts — making the Windstar fleet the largest in its 30-year history.
Like her sisters, Star Breeze — the second of the new additions to be launched — visits Europe during the summer months and the South Pacific, the Caribbean, and Central America during winter. And, like her sisters, Star Breeze offers an onboard experience that brings together the best of a private charter with the amenities of a larger ship. The ship’s lounges, club, casino and library are cozy spots in which to mingle with other guests and all accommodations are suites — if you like to enjoy a little quiet time in your cabin, your seating area will come in handy. Additional amenities include a gym, spa and an onboard sun deck with counter current pool and whirlpool and watersports gear is free to borrow.
Who will like sailing on Star Breeze
Star Breeze is perfect for anyone that wants to escape the madding crowds. Windstar Cruises' fleet is large enough to pamper and entertain you, yet small enough to tuck into tiny harbors and hidden coves that others cannot reach, which mean in many destinations you'll be the only ones in port. On Star Breeze's Passage through Panama itinerary, for instance, cruise passengers will visit Corcovado National Park and dive in the coral reefs of Isla de Coiba. And with just accommodations for a maximum of 212 passengers, the onboard experience is much more intimate. You’ll get to know your fellow travelers in no time.
If you like to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner but don’t spend all day sipping cocktails by the pool, you’ll appreciate Windstar’s pricing. While meals are all-inclusive, the bar isn't, which means your cruise package doesn’t cover someone else’s drinks bill.
Where Star Breeze sails
Star Breeze began its voyages for Windstar Cruises with a series of Riviera sailings, followed by other Mediterranean sailings. Next she heads to Latin America and the Panama Canal in January 2016. Top destinations for this ship include Spain, Costa Rica and Turkey.

Sea Breeze is your yacht to enjoy as you choose. The casino offers almost any game of chance you'd like to try and you can watch movies and play video games any time in the Star Screening Room. Compass Rose – featuring contemporary furnishings and plantation shutters – is the venue for pre- and post-dinner live music and if you have energy to burn, you can rev it up in the fitness center or on the waves with gear from the onboard Watersports Platform.
Star Breeze features 106 suites that vary in size and style. Each 277-square-foot, Ocean-View Suite features a picture window while Balcony Suites have doors which open onto a Juliette balcony. Both categories feature a queen bed (which can be separated as twins if you prefer) made up with luxurious Egyptian cotton linens.
The two Classic Suites feature 400 square feet of space, which includes a living area and French doors that open onto a private veranda. Two spacious closets give you plenty of room to unpack.
The four Owner's Suites offer separate living room and dining areas. A veranda, two flat-screen TVs and DVD players, and a full master bath and separate powder room indulge guests in spacious comfort.
In all of the accommodations, you’ll always find fresh fruit and flowers waiting for you after a day of sun or sightseeing, waffle weave robes and slippers. A flat-screen television and DVD, Bose SoundDock, wireless Internet access and private safe also help make your stay more enjoyable and every accommodation has a full-size tub – a boon after a long day of sight seeing (or a long night partying).
Cruise passengers are also always welcome to visit the bridge — just ask, and you may examine navigation charts with the captain.
Casual is king. You need only dress up if you want to.
