How our Bliss Filters work
An innovator in the ultra-luxury cruise space, Silversea is a crowd favorite among modern affluent travelers because of its all-inclusive pricing and unmatched onboard experiences, enhanced by partnerships with top luxury brands such as Bvlgari, Davidoff and Relais & Châteaux.
Silversea has built its loyal following with exemplary service, spacious suites, varied activities on board and gourmet cuisine that many consider the best dining experience at sea. The line's 12 tony, European-influenced ships, carrying up to 596 guests, foster an intimate experience, with nearly one crew member for each passenger. Sailings are unhurried and uncrowded, as guests enjoy more space and some of the largest staterooms at sea.
One of the few remaining independent cruise companies — it's owned by a wealthy Italian family — Silversea has developed a loyal following for its all-inclusive fares. Among the classy touches awaiting guests: Pratesi linens, walk-in closets and marble-clad bathrooms with shower and tub. On Silversea, all-inclusive means that all dining, drinks and gratuities are included, though shore excursions, spa treatments and Wi-Fi cost extra. (Select sailings offer complimentary Internet access.)
New innovations on the ships — including Stars supper club and outdoor dining under the stars — have been popular with a younger clientele who favor the relaxed vibe on board. Open-seating dining is the rule at all times.
Silversea offers many of the amenities of a large ship on its intimate, all-suite vessels. The ships have all been designed to offer an atmosphere of conviviality and casual elegance. All include butler service. The newest ships feature the largest suites in the fleet — 95% come with private verandas — as well as a resort-style pool, a spacious spa and four whirlpools. And every Silversea sailing includes a complimentary shoreside event, such as private access to a museum after hours. Silversea's new flagship, Silver Moon, debuted in June 2021 and ups the luxury ante even more.
As one reviewer wrote, "The luxury of a Silversea cruise isn't about free-flowing Champagne, upscale jewelry in the ship's boutique, or French chocolates at bedtime. It's about the quality of accommodations, the lack of crowding, the freedom from nickel-and-diming, and the unpretentious but attentive service."
With the inclusion of the small expedition ships Silver Explorer, Silver Galapagos and Silver Discoverer, Silversea ships can transport you to hundreds of remote ports across the globe, ranging from exploring the Galapagos and eastern Russia to expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctica.
Silversea Cruises is geared toward adults. Parents can bring a child 6 months or older. A few sailings include a staffed youth program, but on most cruises there's no dedicated kids' program, so parents are responsible for supervising and entertaining their children.
Silversea attracts a diverse, well-heeled, well-traveled crowd with an international complexion. Typically about half the guests are Americans and three-quarters or more speak English. The median age is over 50 but you'll find a fair number of young professionals as well.
Silversea's itineraries encompass all seven continents and feature luxury cruises to the Mediterranean, Caribbean, both polar regions and more 800 destinations in between. See each ship below for its upcoming itineraries.
