Fall’s arrival means some of the best values of the year are now available at popular resorts and hotel properties in several Caribbean destinations.
The special offers range from discounted rates to special new amenities, facilities and services at properties that offer the beachside locations and magnificent natural beauty for which the region is well known.
The hotel and resorts range from intimate and sophisticated boutique properties to feature-rich resorts featuring activities for every member of the family. Many of the fall deals extend into 2017, but vacationers who want to take advantage of the reduced rates and other special offers will have to act promptly as some of the programs are available only through the end of the month.
Here is an island-by-island summary of special fall Caribbean travel offers:
The Maya Beach Hotel boutique hotel in Belize is offering discounted room rates of $90 per night through November and $130 per night from December through March. Located on the Placencia peninsula, the beachfront property features private porches or balconies in all 10 accommodations and complimentary use of bikes, snorkeling gear and kayaks.
Guests who opt for a five-night packages receive complimentary transfer from Placencia airstrip; a complimentary room upgrade at check-in based on availability; a gift certificate for dinner for two at the Maya Beach Hotel Bistro, including a bottle of wine and a full-day tour of southern Belize, including Mayan ruins.
Several Curacao properties are offering discounted rates to fall travelers. The special offers include $100 resort credits or packages featuring 50 percent off published rates. The Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort is offering 30 percent off rates with daily breakfast included for booking available through made by Dec. 21 for stays through Jan. 31, 2017. The Sunscape Curacao Resort, Spa & Casino is offering 50 percent off published rates, including daily breakfast and free meals for kids. The offer applies to booking made by Nov. 30 for stays through Dec. 22.
Autumn savings are on tap at the luxury Tryall Club in Jamaica, where travelers can save up to 40 percent off published rates. The property features 75 estate villas available for rent by the week, with fall rates as low as $72 per person per day. The property’s oceanfront and mountainside estates accommodate large groups and multi-generational families and each features a private staff of personal chefs, gardeners, housekeepers and butlers. The lowest rates are available for travelers who book by Nov. 31.
The beachside Jamaica Inn is offering “Fall Into Savings” rates up to 30 percent off published rates. The property emphasizes relaxed elegance and luxury; discounted rates are available for travelers who book by Dec. 19 for travel between Nov. 1 and Dec. 19.
Another Jamaica property, Sandals Montego Bay, is offering savings of up to 65 percent off bookings of at least three nights. The resort offers white-sand beaches, water sports and unlimited dining at nine restaurants; the discounted rates are available for booking and travel through Dec. 31.
The all-inclusive Windjammer Landing Villa Beach resort in St. Lucia is offering “Fall into Savings” packages offering 40 percent off published rates on all room categories for bookings made by Nov. 30 for travel through Dec. 20. Guests will also receive one free night’s stay for every four nights booked. Under the offer nightly rates in an ocean view room start at $412 per night, double occupancy.
The resort features at five restaurants and four bars, six swimming pools; a 24-hour fitness center; and Jacquot Fun Club which offers supervised, age-specific activities for children and teens.
The Turks & Caicos’ elegant beachside resort Sands at Grace Bay, which recently completed a $4.5 million renovation, is offering one additional free night with bookings of three nights or more.
The resort’s 114 studio and suite guest rooms feature new furnishings evoking a casual-modern style and inspired modern-abstract artwork showcasing coastal Caribbean colors. Suites range from 1,000 to 1,600 square feet and feature full kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, plus private, screened-in patios.
The on-site Hemingway’s restaurant features and expanded kitchen and revamped dining facilities; a new menu will highlight seasonal recipes. Beginning Dec. 16, United Airlines will launch new flights to the Turks & Caicos from Washington DC’s Dulles International Airport. United currently offers flights to the destination from Newark, Chicago and Houston.
One of the U.S. Virgin Islands’ signature properties, the Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, is offering a variety of discounted rate packages through April 2017 for travelers who book reservations by Oct. 25. Discounted daily rates begin at $125 per night (regularly $250) and all-inclusive rates begin at $258 per night (regularly $515).
The resort’s 53-foot catamaran, Heavenly Days, offers guests sailing excursions including a Sunset Harbor Cocktail Cruise and Swim with the Turtles snorkeling adventure package. Motorized watersports are also available and the onsite St. Thomas Dive Club is a PADI-certified training facility offering scuba services for all skill levels.
