Star Clippers: Fly & sail voyages to Europe (expired)

The offer

Star Clippers, operators of three classic tall ships, has launched a Grand Voyages program to make it easier for guests to fly to Europe for sailings in Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain and Croatia aboard Royal Clipper or France, Spain, Morocco aboard Star Flyer. Rates for the air and cruise fare start at $3,430 US per person, a 35% discount off the brochure rate, for these three specific sailings of 12, 14 and 17 nights in August and October 2016 (see below).

Cruiseable's take

Many travelers are still unfamiliar with the astonishingly beautiful masted ships from Star Clippers. If you've been thinking of taking a different kind of vacation — on a cruise ship that's an entirely different than the big mass market ships, but still at an affordable price — and you've been longing to see coastal Europe, this is a good choice.

Bonus

By booking with Cruiseable, we'll provide an additional $200 to $400 onboard credit (the equivalent of spending money) depending on your choice of cabin. Note: This credit is available only through Cruiseable and is not available if you call the cruise line directly or use a different travel agency.

Viking one-week offer with free international air (expired)

Top cruises to Alaska in 2016-2017

There are countless reasons why Alaska is one of the world’s most popular cruise destinations. For starters, few places can boast such a stunning combination of natural splendor, rich history and vibrant culture. On a single trip, you can see glaciers calving huge icebergs into the water, watch bears snatch salmon out of a river, try your hand at dog mushing, kayak a pristine fjord or take a flightseeing tour above snow-capped mountains.

Most ships depart from Vancouver, with others from Seattle or San Francisco. A few itineraries require you to fly out to a destination like Anchorage to meet your ship - especially if you plan a pre- or post-cruise land tour.

Princess Cruises' Cook My Catch: You hook it, they’ll cook it

Well, here’s a clever promotion for anglers out there who may be taking an Alaska cruise on Princess Cruises this summer: The cruise line is offering to cook whatever you catch.

When I saw the promotion, it brought back a fond memory of a charming Italian captain named Potenzoni, who was master of the long-departed Fairsky cruise ship from the now defunct Sitmar Cruises, which was acquired by Princess. The captain loved to fish in port and would have his chefs prepare what he caught during Mexican Riviera cruises.

Windstar's killer lineup of Northern Europe itineraries (expired)

The offer

Save up to 71% with two complimentary hotel nights before or after your cruise on a number of Windstar Cruises itineraries in Scandinavia, Iceland and Denmark. Highlights include time spent in Reykjavik, Stockholm and charming smaller ports around Northern Europe. Staterooms start at $3,199 per person (based on double occupancy).

Cruiseable's take

Windstar Cruises is one of the top premium cruise lines (we rate it ☆☆☆☆ 1/2 out of 5 stars), with intimate power yachts and sailing ships that carry no more than 300 people. We don't typically associate Windstar with Northern Europe sailings, so this is a great new way to explore some of the small, exotic ports in this scenic part of the world, if the price tag for a premium cruise line is within your budget.

Oceania Cruises: Up to $4,000 in savings & free air ✈ (expired)

The offer

Oceania Cruises is offering cruise fare discounts of $1,000 to $4,000, free air fare and $700 in shipboard credit (the equivalent of spending money) if you book through Cruiseable. Details:

  • Free air fare
  • Discount of up to $4,000 per stateroom
  • Free prepaid gratuities
  • Up to $700 in onboard credit
  • Up to $999 Business Class air upgrade
  • Free Unlimited Internet

Cruiseable's take

With a wide array of exotic vacations, from the opulence of the Orient to the vibrant cultures of the Caribbean and Amazon, there are few cruises that equal the country club elegance of a sailing aboard an Oceania Cruises ship. This special is for a limited time only.

Star Clippers waives 50% single supplement (expired)

The offer

Star Clippers, operators of three classic tall ships, is waiving the typical 50% supplement for solo travelers on select sailings in the Mediterranean in 2016. Throughout April and October 2016, Star Clipprs is offering attractive rates with no single supplement on 4- to 11-night voyages on all three of its ships.

Cruiseable's take

Many travelers are still unfamiliar with the astonishingly beautiful masted ships from Star Clippers. Count us among those who'd like to see the single supplement — which unfairly penalizes single and solo travelers — scrapped or overhauled. Solo cruisers with a bent for adventure ought to love a Mediterranean sailing on any of Star Clippers' ships.

Free air fare to Europe for your AmaWaterways river cruise (expired)

The offer

AmaWaterways is offering guests free air fare to Europe on select 2016 departures. Reserve a balcony stateroom and you'll receive free air fare to Europe from the gateway cities listed below.

Cruiseable's take

Many more people would spring for a cruise on one of AmaWaterways' world-class river ships if only it weren't for pricey international air fare. AmaWaterways has removed that barrier with a very nice sweetener. If you've been considering a romantic European river cruise, this is an excellent choice.

Royal's offer: Two sail for price of 1½ (expired)

The offer

Royal Caribbean is offering couples the following special: Other extras: reduced up-front deposit and up to $300 in onboard credits (the equivalent of spending money).

Cruiseable's take

Royal Caribbean surfaces these specials periodically throughout the year. If you'd like a cruise in 2016 and like a big-ship experience, Royal Caribbean ships are hard to beat.

The great thing about this special is that it applies to hundreds and hundreds of sailings — in fact, it covers all cruises from Dec 10, 2015, through Dec. 31, 2016.
