How our Bliss Filters work
Seabourn is consistently ranked among the world's top cruise lines by travel columnists and discerning readers of such travel publications as Departures, Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler.
Its seven small, all-suite ships, which carry up to 450 guests and nearly the same number of staff, provide an ultra-luxury cruise experience for passengers who like calling on wonderful little hideaways not accessible to big cruise ships.
Seabourn's ships offer you spacious, thoughtfully appointed suites, many with verandas; superb dining in a choice of venues; open bars throughout the ship; fine wines poured at lunch and dinner; award-winning service and a relaxed, sociable atmosphere that makes guests feel right at home on board.
Entertainment and activities tend toward the educational and thoughtful, with seminars, wine tastings, culinary lessons and the like. Evening entertainment might include a Broadway musical, variety acts or classical music.
Dining is country club casual, with one-week sailings typically featuring one "formal optional" night, giving guests the option of dressing up in formal attire.
One of the coolest highlights of a Seabourn cruise occurs when the ship opens its aft hatch and launches a pop-up marina, giving guests the chance to swim, water-ski, jet-ski, kayak, sail or ride banana boats. But Seabourn's signature event is its "Caviar in the Surf" beach party, offered on many cruises to the Caribbean, Belize and southeast Asia. Guests on shore and in the surf are served caviar, champagne and a stylish beach barbecue.
Gratuities and spirits are included in the cruise fare. Carnival Corp. purchased Seabourn in 1999 but the cruise line still maintains its luxury positioning in the market. (In 2014 Seabourn sold three its three smallest ships — Seabourn Legend, Pride and Spirit — to Windstar.)
Seabourn expanded into luxury expedition cruising in April 2022 with the launch of Seabourn Venture, which sails chiefly to the polar regions and the Amazon. The ultra-luxury expedition ship Seabourn Pursuit debuted in August 2023 with 24 Zodiacs, kayaks and two custom-built submarines.
Seabourn is geared toward adults. Parents can bring a child 6 months or older (minimum age is 1 on transatlantic sailings), but the cruise line has no dedicated kids' program, so one rarely sees young children on Seabourn voyages.
Seabourn attracts mature, sophisticated, upscale travelers who value the intimacy and quietude found on small luxury ships as well as the first-rate service, excellent cuisine and the interesting, immersive experiences afforded by small-ship cruising.
Seabourn ships travel the globe throughout the year, sailing to many of the world's most desirable destinations, including the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, transatlantic sailings, calls on marquee cities, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, lesser-known ports — and even Antarctica. See each ship below for its upcoming itineraries.
