American Liberty
American Liberty: Coastal Cat cruises along the Eastern U.S.
Snapshot
The 100-passenger American Liberty launched in August 2024, offering the best qualities of expedition adventure cruising with the refinement and accessibility of river cruising. The design of the ship allows access into small ports.
Relax in one of the spacious staterooms and enjoy the scenic views from your private balcony. Or sit at one of the observation areas and admire the splendid vistas with fellow travelers. If you are feeling adventurous a Swim/Activity Platform at the stern of the ship features a tender for local exploration.
A sophisticated aesthetic tailors an onboard atmosphere for American Liberty that evokes a sense of appreciation for U.S. history. The choice of color palettes, furnishings, and artwork will reflect design motifs of New England, Chesapeake Bay and the Southeast.
One of 12 planned new ships from the U.S.-based line, American Liberty's design is identical to sister ships American Eagle, American Glory and American Legend.
Who will like cruising on American Liberty
Travelers who crave cultural immersion and enrichment cruising on the inland and coastal waters of the United States — or those who prefer the convenience of sailing on domestic waterways — may like a cruise on American Liberty. Cruises are designed to evoke a sense of pride and appreciation for U.S. history. Note that the average age of guests is 72, according to the cruise line.
Where American Liberty sails
American Liberty features sailings in New England (including Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket and Newport, R.I.), fall foliage cruises up the Hudson River and through the Catskills, as well as itineraries in Chesapeake Bay and historic regions of the South.
Dining & amenities
American Liberty has a main restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. In addition, there's a cafe on deck, and you can choose to dine on your room's balcony, which is uncommon for ships of this size.
Public areas include a panoramic forward lounge, upper sky lounge, games room and fitness center. Furnishings and artwork throughout the ship reflect the traditions of the East Coast, where the ship sails. You'll also find a self-service laundry on board. At the stern of the ship are some aquatic goodies, including kayaks and a tender for water-based exploration.
Staterooms
The ship features 56 outside cabins in six categories over four decks. Cabins run from 230 to 550 square feet. Lower-deck cabins have fixed windows while cabins on all the other decks have private balconies.
The largest accommodations are on the uppermost deck: four 425-square-foot Sky Suites and two Grand Suites that measure 550 square feet and feature a separate bedroom and living area and private dining area on the balcony. There are also three 230-square-foot single cabins, all with walk-out verandas.
Fun facts
American Liberty is USA-built (at Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, Md.) and American-flagged and crewed.
