American Legend
American Legend: Debuting in November 2024
Snapshot
The 100-passenger American Legend is due to launch in November 2024, offering the best qualities of expedition adventure cruising with the refinement and accessibility of river cruising. The design of the ship allows access into small ports.
Relax in one of the spacious staterooms and enjoy the scenic views from your private balcony. Or sit at one of the observation areas and admire the splendid vistas with fellow travelers. If you are feeling adventurous a unique Swim/Activity Platform at the stern of the ship features a tender for local exploration.
A sophisticated aesthetic tailors an onboard atmosphere for American Legend that evokes a sense of pride and appreciation for U.S. history. The choice of color palettes, furnishings, and artwork will reflect the motifs of New England, Chesapeake Bay, and the Southeast.
The fourth of 12 planned ships, American Liberty follows the launch of identical sister ships American Eagle, American Glory and American Liberty.
Where American Legend sails
American Legend will initially offer one itinerary: a 7-night "Florida Gulf Coast & Keys Cruise" out of St. Petersburg, Fla., to Key West, Punta Gorda, Marco Island and Dry Tortugas National Park.
Dining & amenities
American Legend has a main restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. In addition, there's a cafe on deck, and you can choose to dine on your room's balcony, which is uncommon for ships of this size.
Public areas include a panoramic forward lounge, upper sky lounge, games room and fitness center. Furnishings and artwork throughout the ship reflect the traditions of the East Coast, where the ship sails. You'll also find a self-service laundry on board. At the stern of the ship are some aquatic goodies, including kayaks and a tender for water-based exploration.
Staterooms
The ship features 56 outside cabins in six categories over four decks. Cabins run from 230 to 550 square feet. Lower-deck cabins have fixed windows while cabins on all the other decks have private balconies.
The largest accommodations are on the uppermost deck: four 425-square-foot Sky Suites and two Grand Suites that measure 550 square feet and feature a separate bedroom and living area and private dining area on the balcony. There are also three 230-square-foot single cabins, all with walk-out verandas.
Fun facts
American Legend is USA-built (at Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, Md.) and American-flagged and crewed.
