Holland America makes it easier to pay for your cruise

Can’t afford to plunk down that full fare for your next Holland America cruise? No worries. The mainstream cruise line has just introduced an interest-free way to make monthly payments.

Called EZpay, the new program spreads out your cruise balance for as long as you need. What’s more, you can cancel at any time and receive a refund without penalty. The plan is available on nearly all itineraries in the fleet as long as the sailing is not within the final payment deadline.

Here's how it works. You supply your credit card and EZpay deducts money monthly until the fare is covered. There are no extra fees. Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? Orlando Ashford, president of HAL, thinks so.

“We continually look for ways to enhance our guests’ experience even before they step foot on one of our ships, and EZpay allows the flexibility to pay off their cruise at their own pace,” Ashford said in a statement. “Cruising is the best vacation value there is, and EZpay makes it possible for our guests to book their dream vacation now and conveniently budget it over an extended period of time.”

You can even select the date of the monthly charge to be deducted. Extra funds also can be added to a payment, with the remaining balance recalculated into equal amounts.

If you like the idea, you can sign up for EZpay when booking your cruise with a travel advisor. EZpay can be requested at any time leading up to final payment.

Holland America operates a fleet of 15 large ships that offer more than 500 voyages in 400 ports and 98 countries. In other words, the cruise line sails almost anywhere you'd want to go.
