  • Viking-Fjorgyn.jpg - One of four purpose-built longships on the Seine River, the 168-passenger Viking Fjorgyn offers sailings from Paris to the heart of Normandy.

Viking Fjorgyn: From charming riverside towns to D-Day beaches

Viking Fjorgyn carries 168 passengers — fewer than the usual complement of 190 guests on most Viking Longships — on one-week round-trip cruises from Paris to the heart of Normandy, including D-Day beaches and World War II memorials.

The highlights of your sailing will likely be a shore excursion in Normandy, France, as well as charming villages on the Seine along the way.

Purpose-built for France's Seine River, the Viking River Cruises ship boasts the same popular design elements as Viking's Longships, including streamlined Scandinavian interiors, deluxe accommodations and state-of-the-art engineering. It also features the Aquavit Terrace, which transforms from an indoor to an outdoor dining venue as the weather permits. For dining and entertainment, The Restaurant and Bar are the key go-to public spaces.

The ship's design allows it to dock in downtown Paris, steps from the Eiffel Tower. Fjorgyn features energy-efficient hybrid engine technology, solar panels and a Longship design with off-center corridor shifting for larger accommodations.

Where Viking Fjorgyn sails

Viking Fjorgyn features "Paris & the Heart of Normandy," a seven-night round-trip voyage from Paris as well as "Christmas on the Seine," a seven-night round-trip sailing from Paris on the Seine.
