Ilma: Ritz-Carlton’s luxury ‘superyacht’ debuts in fall 2024

Snapshot

Ilma, the second vessel in The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, is due to debut in September 2024 with a series of idyllic Mediterranean sailings on the luxury ‘‘superyacht.’’

The yacht will feature 224 airy, light-filled suites, all with private terraces, and will accommodate up to 448 passengers. On board, you'll find a pool deck, a separate infinity pool, five restaurants, six bars, several lounges and a spa. The new vessel will have an aft marina that gives guests direct access to the water and water toys while the ship is anchored. Throughout the ship, you'll find an atmosphere of casual elegance and a design described as sleek and graceful.

The cruise line dubs Ilma as the most spacious cruise ship ever built. And the math doesn't lie: with the ship's gross tonnage of 46,750, that comes out to a "space ratio" of space per passenger of nearly 103. (By comparison, mass-market ships from Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line often have space ratios in the 35-40 range.)

Ilma will be nearly twice as big as the line's first vessel, Evrima. It'll also carry far more passengers — 456 instead of 298. Fares start at $6,800 per person for a voyage on Ilma, which means “water” in Maltese,

Where Ilma sails

Ilma offers thoughtfully curated itineraries and memorable journeys for guests. The ship features 7- to 12-night sailings in the Mediterranean to places like Monte Carlo, St. Tropez, Mallorca, Malta, Santorini and the Amalfi Coast. From November to April, the ship sails out of Ft. Lauderdale and San Juan for a series of 5- to 9-night journeys around the Caribbean.
