Riviera
Oceania's Riviera: Specially designed for uber-luxury & sophistication
Snapshot
Riviera debuted in 2012, shortly after her game-changing sister ship Marina, and the cruise line called them "the most beautiful, elegant and sophisticated ships to debut in the past 50 years." Designer touches are everywhere, from the Lalique Grand Staircase to the Owner's Suites furnished by the Ralph Lauren Home Collection, all of which showcase the ship's residential design and furnishings. Riviera is designed specifically to personify the Oceania Cruises experience.
Riviera retains Oceania's comfortable mid-size class of ships, similar to the line's Regatta, Insignia and Nautica. Along with casual ambience and personalized service, the Riviera offers more choices and new amenities, such as open-seating gourmet restaurants a hands-on cooking school at sea and an artists-in-residence enrichment center for fine-arts instruction.
Where Riviera sails
Oceania's Riviera sails the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and the Panama Canal. Enjoy destinations in the Caribbean such as Phillipsburg, Gustavia, St. John and Castries in St. Lucia.
Dining on Riviera
Riviera offers guests its signature "finest cuisine at sea" in six restaurants, including two new gourmet venues as well as the ship's bars and lounges.
Grand Dining Room
The Grand Dining Room offers approachable luxury on a grand scale. With multiple courses of French-inspired Continental dishes, this room aims to capture the feel of a European five-star restaurant, with fine china, crystal and silver alongside the formally attired waitstaff, frescoes and domed ceiling.
Jacques
Internationally renowned French chef Jacques Pepin lends his name and his talents to the first restaurant with his name on land or sea. Decorated with rich fabrics, heirloom antiques, wood furnishings and art from Jacques's personal collection, the restaurant resembles a classic Parisian bistro, offering simple yet classic French cuisine.
Red Ginger
Red Ginger's decorative centerpiece, three multi-colored Buddha heads each carved from a single piece of glass, is a giveaway to the restaurant's contemporary interpretations of Asian classics. Along with striking visuals that are rooted in the tradition of feng shui, Red Ginger's chefs have created a menu that draws from a variety of cuisines such as Thai, Malaysian and Indian.
Privee
Privee is the Riviera's most indulgent dining experience. Decorated with Ferrari Red carpeting, oversized white baby crocodile throne chairs, Baroque millwork, and backlit onyx-clad walls, the setting for Privee is an intimate space designed to engage the senses of even the most discerning foodie.
La Reserve
Atop Deck 12 is La Reserve by Wine Spectator, an ideal venue for wine tastings and gourmet dinners. Daytime tasting menus offer vintages from the wine cellar selected by the head sommelier to reflect the region of the world in which you're sailing. Evenings are reserved for more elaborate affairs, such as seven-course, gourmet dinners where each course is paired with select wines.
Polo Grill
Inspired by the Hollywood legends whose pictures adorn the walls, the Polo Grill offers an old-school atmosphere of a classic steakhouse. This intimate restaurant offers guests an ambiance that matches its dishes, coupled at night with a romantic moonlit view. The Polo Bar inside the restaurant also offers visitors a large variety of single-malt Scotch and full-grain whiskeys.
Toscana
With Tuscan recipes straight from the Italian culinary staff, this restaurant looks to create an authentic Tuscan experience. Toscana prepares its dishes with flavors balanced and rooted in family traditions, while sommeliers recommend the right vintage for each dish.
Other options
Breakfast and lunch buffets at the Terrace Cafe offer an informal option for dining. Guests can dine indoors or outdoors since the Cafe opens onto both the teak-lined pool deck or aft onto the Terrace. Waves Grill is near the swimming pool and offers gourmet burgers, barbecue and seafood. The open galley allows you to observe the chefs in action, cooking to order while you sample fresh salads or hand-cut fries on the side. Desserts include gelato, a bowl of homemade ice cream or a made-to-order milkshake.
Bars & lounges
Martinis
Martinis serves numerous incarnations of this famous cocktail in an intimate atmosphere reminiscent of a private gentleman's club, featuring live piano music.
Grand Bar
Before enjoying a gourmet meal, sample a rare vintage or sip on a handcrafted cocktail as you enjoy conversation with friends amid the opulence of the Grand Bar.
Baristas
Riviera's coffee bar is directly adjacent to the library, with an arc of floor-to-ceiling windows that provide panoramic views of the sea. Baristas offers espressos, cappuccinos, pastries and homemade biscotti.
Riviera Lounge
From headline acts to comedians and magicians to lively jazz ensembles, the ship's lounges are the center of nightly entertainment aboard the Riviera.
Horizons
An observation lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows offers views and vistas and a bar to enjoy a cocktail at the bar.
Activities
One of cruising's most time-honored traditions, High Tea aboard the Riviera is served promptly at 4 pm each day in the Horizons observation lounge. Pastry chefs take create a collection of English-style finger sandwiches, scones and other treats. Guests may also enjoy live entertainment during afternoon High Tea.
Canyon Ranch SpaClub
Canyon Ranch, the American-based resort and health spa, has joined Oceania Cruises to set up an outpost for its famous spas on board, called SpaClub. Canyon Ranch brings its 30-year track record in skin care, acupuncture, salon services and body treatments to Oceania guests without any of the heavy sales tactics for the products.
Bon Appetit Culinary Center
Described as the only hands-on cooking class at sea, Riviera offers passengers the chance to learn gourmet cuisine at the Bon Appetit Culinary Center. Expert Master Chefs provide instruction in a professional kitchen atmosphere where passengers can expand their knowledge and appreciation of local cuisines.
Artist Loft
A hands-on program for budding artists, the Artist Loft is a creative enrichment center, where artists-in-residence offer step-by-step instruction in their areas of expertise. Passengers can learn how to paint in a variety of mediums, take needlepoint or create arts and crafts.
Entertainment
Onboard shows
Riviera's "Now and Forever — The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber" is the only show at sea with Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's name and seal of approval on it, and can only be seen on Riviera. Now and Forever uses Webber's concert orchestrations, recorded with a full symphonic orchestra, and mixed at the famed Abbey Road Studios.
Riviera's onboard cast also performs three other production shows. "Up in Flames," "Flower Power" and "Rock On." All shows are produced by Royal Theatrical Productions, an award-winning entertainment company founded by Jean Ann Ryan that delivers high-quality musical revues for many of the world's finest cruise ships, theaters and resorts.
Casino Bar
Try your hand at table games such as blackjack, poker and roulette on board the ship's Monte Carlo-style casino while enjoying a cocktail from the Casino Bar
Boutiques
The ship's three boutiques feature a number of items ranging from sundries to designer casual wear. Passengers can browse through the ship's array of duty-free merchandise including jewelry, fragrances and Oceania Cruises logo wear.
