Iceland highlights on a cruise

Earlier this month I took my daughter, Jamie, on board the Pacific Princess, commonly known as The Love Boat. Our transatlantic cruise took us to Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Scotland. But I have to say the highlight of the trip was Iceland, with its spectacular scenery and natural wonders.

I was expecting lots of snow, and while the white-capped glaciers were amazing, there were also rolling green hills, wildflowers, wildlife and waterfalls everywhere you turned. And the locals were some of the friendliest people I've ever met!

There was a good amount of fog along the coastline but further inland it was actually a bit warm. Perhaps the most memorable spot was Godafoss Falls In northern Iceland, halfway between Akureyri and Myvatn Lake -- the "Waterfall of the Gods." There's quite a bit of mythical lore around these parts, with some locals who firmly believe in fairies and trolls.

You should go to Iceland, it's magical. Hope you enjoy our photos!

The worst thing is to get off a cruise and not have a next one planned.  I have 12 coming up in year or more.
