How our Bliss Filters work
Flying Clipper will feature three pools: two plunge pools on deck (one with a glass bottom, filtering watery light into the atrium below) and a scuba diving pool in the aft, descending 18 feet through two decks, with glass sides so passengers below decks can watch the divers.
In the Tropical Bar, a covered area with the sides open to the elements, you'll find musical entertainment, talks, exercise classes and shows, such as passenger talent shows or a crew fashion show. In the mood for something mellower? The Piano Bar will offer live piano music in a refined, air-conditioned setting.
During some sailings, when the ship is docked passengers will be able to use the water sports platform at the rear for kayaking, waterskiing, snorkeling and other water activities.
On all Star Clippers ships, informal talks take place each day on knot tying, celestial navigation, the history of clipper ships and sailing techniques.
There is one restaurant on board spanning two decks and offering open-seating dining. Meals include a buffet at breakfast and lunch, with dishes such as omelets and pasta made to order from a separate station. Dinner features a selection of dishes and daily vegetarian options. There is no room service on Star Clippers' ships, although tea, coffee and fruit are available.
Passengers have a choice of 150 cabins, including 34 suites with balconies and four luxurious owner’s suites. The regular cabins are compact and economical, featuring decor that reflects the Golden Age of clipper ships, such as polished wood, brass and framed prints of beautiful ships under sail.
Star Clippers offers no formal children's program or child care, though older children find many of the trips to be engaging.
