Beautiful Stavanger & Eidfjord, Norway, in photos

During our recent Scandinavia and Baltic cruise aboard Viking's ocean ship Viking Sun, the last three days of our voyage took us to the ports of Stavanger & Eidfjord along the western coast of Norway.

If you have the chance, a cruise to those scenic spots is both memorable and totally relaxing. The highlight for us was spectacular Vøringsfossen waterfall, which is not among Norway's top 20 longest waterfalls but is certainly its best known. Check out the photos above to see why.

Another cool destination was Lysefjord, a pretty fjord about an hour's boat ride from Stavanger. When we visited the highlight of the shore excursion, 1,982-foot-tall Pulpit Tall, several locals mentioned that Tom Cruise and company filmed scenes from “Mission Impossible: Fallout” there a few months earlier. Good movie, by the way!
