Avalon View: ’Suite ship’ debuts on Danube in 2022

Dining

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the ship's main restaurant with fare that straddles American and continental cuisines. All dining venues are open seating. The chefs on board typically prepare regional specialties drawn from local ingredients and drinks. A typical dinner consists of four courses, including appetizers, soups, salads, entrées and desserts or cheese.

Additional dining choices are available in the Panorama Bistro and light bites can be had at the al fresco Sky Grill. Cruisers also have healthy menu options including low calorie, low fat and low cholesterol meals. Room service for continental breakfast is complimentary.

Amenities & activities

Onboard amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi access, a state-of-the-art Fitness Center, an Adventure Center for bikes and active gear, and an Avalon Adventure Host to assist with active excursions and activities.

The Panorama Lounge provides the ideal spot for everything from shore excursion previews to cooking demonstrations. Head to the lounge for Afternoon Tea featuring tea, coffee and sweet treats, and for Happy Hour every evening including featured drink specials. The Club Lounge features a 24-hour self-serve beverage station with complimentary cappuccinos, lattes, tea, hot chocolate and premium coffees. A hot tub and deck games are available on the sun deck at the top of the ship.

In the evenings, entertainment typically features a pianist playing low-key music with occasional performances by local entertainers brought aboard in select ports of call.

While Avalon attracts an international crowd, the crew and cruise director provide instructions and updates in English.

Staterooms

Avalon View has 65 Panorama Suites, 16 Deluxe Staterooms and two Royal Suites. The Panorama Suites are 200 square feet, with beds positioned to face the large wall-to-wall windows, which open wide, and a small sitting area along with a writing desk and vanity.  Beds are outfitted with Egyptian super-combed cotton linens, and travelers have a choice of mattress firmness. Bathrooms feature a full-size shower and glass door as well as a vanity stocked with L'Occitane bath products.

On the Indigo Deck, the 172-square-foot Deluxe Staterooms have fixed chest-high windows and the same bathrooms and amenities as the larger, pricier Panorama Suites.

Guests in both cabin categories also get a wide selection of free movie channels and English-speaking TV, individual climate control, full-size closet and mirror, and in-room safe.
