MS Antares: See the land of pharaohs & pyramids

Snapshot

Built to navigate the Nile River, the 62-passenger MS Antares is an upscale river ship operated by Viking River Cruises that gives guests a sophisticated way to experience the wonders of ancient Egypt.

Designed to international standards of comfort and elegance, the ship features French balconies, hotel-style beds in every spacious stateroom and public areas bathed in light, making Antares one of the most sophisticated river ships sailing the region.

MS Antares provides a comfortable outpost as you immerse yourself in ancient Egypt. The state-of-the-art ship has a refined, understated ambiance, including spa facilities, Sun Deck, pool and revitalizing amenities that provide a serene haven from which to explore this culturally rich destination.

Built in 2007, the ship was fully renovated in 2018 and Viking acquired it in 2020. It is Viking's second smallest ship on the Nile as measured by number of passengers (Viking Ra is smaller) and provides a remarkably high level of personal service with a crew of 75.

Where MS Antares sails

See the pyramids and Great Sphinx. Explore the Temple of Karnak’s 136 soaring pillars. Visit Queen Nefertari’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings. Skim the waters of the Nile by traditional felucca. Enjoy the fragrances of Aswan’s spice market.

MS Antares features the "Pharaohs & Pyramids" itinerary, an 11-night voyage by cruise, air and land round-trip from Cairo. Among the sites along the Nile are the ancient cities of Luxor and Edfu.
