Viking Hathor: Sail the Nile River in comfort

Snapshot

The 82-passenger Viking Hathor is due to launch in August 2024 as one of the most upscale ships in Egypt. Sister ship to Viking Osiris and Viking Aton, the river ship from Viking River Cruises will take travelers on trips to Cairo — where you can take in the ancient pyramids and Great Sphinx — and then on to historic ruins along the Nile River.

Specifically built to navigate the Nile River, Viking's Egypt ships have been fully reengineered to the most modern standards of comfort and elegance. With French balconies, hotel-style beds in every spacious stateroom and public areas bathed in light, Hathor and its sister ships make up the most sophisticated river ships sailing the region.

Who will like sailing on Viking Hathor

Travelers who want to explore the ancient history of Egypt in comfort, and without crowds or hassles, will enjoy the up-close, exclusive sightseeing afforded by a trip to Cairo and the ruins of Luxor and Edfu.

Where Viking Hathor sails

Bookings are now open. Viking Hathor will sail the "Pharaohs & Pyramids" itinerary. It begins with a three-night stay in Cairo followed by a seven-night round-trip Luxor cruise. It includes a visit to the tomb of Tutankhamen in the Valley of the Kings and Nefertari in the Valley of the Queens and excursions including the temples at Abu Simbel and the High Dam in Aswan, and a visit to a Nubian village and elementary school.
