Viking Mars: Wide-ranging sailings begin in May 2022

Health update: All guests must be fully vaccinated to board a Viking ship. Guests may also be required to undergo a saliva PCR test at embarkation.

The eighth ocean ship from Viking Ocean Cruises, Viking Mars is set to debut on May 28, 2022, with a 14-day sailing from Barcelona, Spain, to Bergen, Norway. From there, the 930-passenger ship will begin a series of wide-ranging itineraries in Europe, Australia and Asia.

Nearly identical to its groundbreaking sister ships, Viking Mars offers the same inclusive premium cruise experience with itineraries centering on the ports of call. Shore excursions, Wi-Fi as well as beer and wine with lunch and dinner are all included in the price of a fare. Use of the ship's expansive Nordic spa is also free.

Viking Mars features a choice of several casual dining spots as well as three upscale restaurants for dinner at no extra charge. The ship is home to two pools, an outside infinity pool and a main pool deck encased by a retractable roof, making it the perfect place to relax rain or shine. The interior areas are simple yet elegantly appointed, with blonde tones and an inviting, understated Scandinavian décor.
