Destinations: The Uniworld River Orchid sails the Mekong River in Vietnam, beginning in Ho Chi Minh City and visiting the major sites along the way in Vietnam and Cambodia. Buses complete the tour of sites with a visit to Siem Reap (Angkor Wat) then a flight to Hanoi.
Panoramic Restaurant is the main dining option on board. Breakfast is served buffet style, while lunch and dinner offer open seating. Complimentary wine and beer are available with all dinners, while complimentary coffee, tea and local beer and spirits are also available throughout the cruise. and features options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Sun Deck also features a full-service bar.
A wide range of entertainment options and cultural activities await in the ship's public areas. Peruse the onboard gift shop, sip a cool beverage on the peaceful Sun Deck, or take in a traditional Khmer dance performed by visiting Cambodian children during an evening onshore in Phnom Penh. Other public areas on board include the lecture and movie room and spa, which offers full-service massage treatments.
A choice of tours is offered in each destination and is included in the fares. Cruise passengers, for instance, can opt for a tour of Ho Chi Minh City's French Colonial architecture, followed by a visit to the Reunification Palace and War Remants Museum. There is also an excursion to Cai Be, where guests will visit a family-run factory that makes candies, rice paper and popped rice. Another tour of Phnom Penh, Campodia's capital, includes a motorcycle rickshaw ride throughout the city where visitors will see the Royal Palace's Throne Hall and Silver Pagoda, which contains thousands of artifacts such as jewel-encrusted Buddhas.
Staterooms offer every convenience needed for a comfortable journey, with hotel-style beds draped in fine linens, a choice of pillows, French doors that open onto a shared promenade, plenty of storage space, a vanity, individually controlled air-conditioning and bottled water. Bathrooms feature comfy robes and slippers, soothing bath products and a hair dryer. Suites offer additional special amenities.
