Launched in 2018, the 702-passenger Azamara Pursuit is similar in size to the 694-passenger ships Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest, and it was updated to reflect the renovations introduced on those two ships. Pursuit allows visits to smaller ports that larger ships are unable to reach.
Azamara Club Cruises has tried to set itself apart from luxury brands such as Seabourn and Crystal by focusing on destinations and offering more time in port, including overnight stays on most of its itineraries.

Azamara Pursuit offers far-afield voyages, including to small ports and familiar destinations in the Mediterranean and Western Europe, western Africa, the Middle East and South America.
Ship’s backstory
Azamara Pursuit was built in 2001 and previously sailed under the names R Eight, Minerva II, Royal Princess and Adonia. Azamara acquired the ship in 2017, renamed the vessel the Azamara Pursuit in March 2018 and began operating the ship in August 2018 after an extensive refurbishment.
