News release
SAN FRANCISCO, March 9, 2016 — Cruiseable, the travel industry's first cruise discovery and booking engine, today announced the launch of a Travel Lovers Rewards Club that offers travelers considerable savings on hotels and cruise vacations.
The rewards program, months in development, offers consumers up to $250 in yearly savings on their hotel bills at more than 400,000 hotels and resorts in the United States and abroad. The cost for joining the Travel Lovers Rewards Club is $2.99 per month or $29 per year after a three-month free membership.
"For anyone who travels and stays in hotels, you'd be hard pressed to find a better value in travel," said J.D. Lasica, CEO of Cruiseable.
Participating hotel chains include Hilton, Hyatt, Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Marriott, Wyndham, W Hotels, Sheraton, Starwood, Ramada, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Mandarin Oriental, Best Western, Days Inn, Travelodge and thousands of other hotels and resorts.
During a test run of the rewards club in November 2015, Lasica said he booked a two-night stay at the 5-star Conrad Hilton Istanbul and reduced his total room fare from $569 to $354 including taxes — a $215 savings. "The fare was considerably lower than I could find using Expedia, Priceline, Booking.com and the usual suspects," he said.
Wellness as a key component of vacation travel
For the new rewards program, Cruiseable partnered with SuiteBreak, a division of the Travel to Better Health Foundation. Both organizations promote wellness and improved work-life balance through vacation and cruise travel.
Through a series of partnerships with global wholesalers, Cruiseable is able to offer members of the Travel Lovers Rewards Club lower hotel prices than is available to the public. A member receives log-in credentials to a site where she can search on room availability in a city during a specific date range. Members can use their computers or mobile devices to sort by biggest dollar savings, biggest percent savings, hotel ratings and other criteria. They are awarded $250 in "Wellness dollars," which can be applied to lower hotel room fares through an online portal.
Cruiseable, which matches consumers with a cruise that's the right fit for their travel style, is also able to offer Travel Lovers Rewards Club members hundreds of dollars in savings on cruise bookings thanks to its agreements with 33 major cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Princess, Celebrity, Viking, MSC Cruises and others, Lasica said. Cruiseable also lets users search for cruise ships that offer fitness centers, yoga lessons and other wellness features.
Plans for other consumer-friendly initiatives
As part of the public rollout of the Travel Lovers Rewards Club, Cruiseable today is launching a We Love Bloggers campaign with the hashtag #welovebloggers to generate interest in the new program.
Cruiseable, which describes itself as a travel company, cruise discovery engine and online travel publication, combines state-of-the-art "Bliss Filters" technology with community content, travel journalism and high-quality photos on both the Cruiseable.com website and Cruiseable mobile app for iOS.
The company is planning other new initiatives in 2016 to make it easier for travelers to discover, plan and book a great cruise vacation, Lasica said. "Not every cruise is right for every person," he said. "But we believe everyone will love cruising if they're matched with the right experience. It's our job to help them find it."
