Thankfully, today's global journeys are infinitely safer and more comfortable.
In fact, on many ships, you'd be forgiven for thinking you've checked into a five-star hotel suite, such are the levels of luxury on offer.
An around the world cruise is the pinnacle of a diehard cruiser. Not sure if even I could afford one on of these trips (price for only the top accommodations are shown), I could be away for such a long time. I am willing to try, though.
