Silversea Cruises has announced the line will move Silver Cloud to its luxury expedition fleet in November 2017.
Destined mostly for polar waters, the ship that launched the cruise line will be converted into an ice-class ship during an extensive refurbishment scheduled to start in August 2017.
Silversea Cruises will upgrade the Silver Cloud to Ice class so that it can be used for Arctic cruises. Although the ship can hold 260 passengers, it will be limited to 200 when doing arctic cruises.
Silversea currently has three all-suite expedition ships, Silver Explorer, Silver Discoverer, and Silver Galapagos. The Silver Cloud will be a welcome addition to these luxury expedition cruises.
